We stand behind our work. This policy explains our refund and cancellation terms for web development, AI development, and marketing services.
1. General Policy
dropt.beer provides custom digital services including web development, AI development, and marketing. Due to the personalized nature of our work, refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the terms outlined below.
2. Deposits and Initial Payments
2.1 Non-Refundable Deposits
Deposits (typically 50% of project cost) are non-refundable once work has commenced. This includes:
- Project planning and strategy sessions
- Design mockups and wireframes
- Initial development work
- Purchase of third-party tools or licenses
2.2 Before Work Starts
If you cancel before any work begins, deposits may be refunded minus:
- Administrative fees ($100)
- Any third-party costs already incurred
- Time spent in consultation (billed at $150/hour)
3. Project Cancellations
3.1 Client-Initiated Cancellation
If you cancel a project mid-development:
- You receive all work completed up to cancellation date
- You are billed for all hours worked at agreed rates
- Any non-refundable third-party costs are your responsibility
- Unused deposit may be credited against final invoice
3.2 dropt.beer-Initiated Cancellation
If we cancel due to non-payment or breach of terms:
- All payments received are retained
- Outstanding invoices remain due
- We retain all work product
If we cancel for other reasons (capacity, fit, etc.):
- You receive full refund of unused payments
- You receive all completed work
4. Refund Eligibility
4.1 When Refunds MAY Be Granted
Refunds may be considered if:
- We fail to deliver agreed-upon services
- Work does not meet specifications in the contract
- Website has critical bugs that we cannot fix
- We miss agreed deadlines by more than 30 days without justification
4.2 When Refunds Will NOT Be Granted
Refunds will not be issued for:
- Change of mind or business direction
- Dissatisfaction with design (after approval)
- Features not in original scope
- Third-party service issues (hosting, domains, etc.)
- Delays caused by client (late feedback, missing content)
- Work performed according to agreed specifications
5. Refund Process
5.1 How to Request
To request a refund:
- Email billing@dropt.beer with your request
- Include: Project name, invoice number, reason for refund
- Provide supporting documentation
5.2 Review Timeline
- Acknowledgment: Within 2 business days
- Review: Within 10 business days
- Decision: Communicated via email
- Processing: If approved, 7-10 business days
5.3 Refund Method
Refunds are issued to the original payment method:
- Credit Card: 5-10 business days
- ACH Transfer: 7-10 business days
- Wire Transfer: 3-5 business days
6. Service-Specific Terms
6.1 Web Development
- 30-day bug fix warranty after launch
- Refunds considered if site doesn’t meet contracted specifications
- Design revisions as per contract (typically 2-3 rounds)
6.2 AI Development
- Refunds based on performance metrics in contract
- No refunds for AI limitations beyond our control
- Model training costs are non-refundable
6.3 Marketing Services
- Monthly services can be cancelled with 30 days notice
- Ad spend is non-refundable (paid to platforms)
- Strategy/consulting fees non-refundable after delivery
6.4 Consulting/Hourly Work
- Time worked is non-refundable
- Can cancel future hours with 48 hours notice
- Unused retainer hours may be refunded
7. Third-Party Costs
The following are never refundable:
- Domain registrations
- Hosting setup fees
- SSL certificates
- Premium plugins or themes
- Stock photography licenses
- Advertising spend (Google Ads, Facebook Ads)
- Email service costs
8. Satisfaction Guarantee
While we cannot guarantee specific business results, we guarantee:
- Work performed to professional standards
- Delivery of services as contracted
- Responsive communication throughout project
- Resolution of technical issues within our control
9. Dispute Resolution
If you’re unsatisfied with our refund decision:
- Request escalation to senior management
- We’ll review within 5 business days
- Final decision communicated in writing
